How many porta potties does a grad party need?
A graduation open house needs 1 porta potty for every 50 guests over 4 hours. Most open houses see 100 to 200 guests over about 4 hours, so plan 2 to 4 units. If the house bathroom stays closed to guests, add 1. If the party runs 5 hours or more, use the calculator.
Use the porta potty calculator.
Standard or flushing units for an open house?
Flushing units with sinks suit graduation parties, because guests are eating and older relatives attend. A standard unit with a separate hand-washing station costs less and handles more people. Many families rent one flushing unit plus one standard unit and a hand-washing station.

Where should units go at a house party?
Units should go at the side of the driveway or yard, 50 to 100 feet from the food tent, with doors facing the guests' path. Keep them off the septic field and sprinkler heads. Leave room for the truck to reach them for pickup on Monday.
When should I book for May graduations?
Book graduation units by mid-April. The first three Saturdays in May book first in Grand Island, Hastings, Aurora and Kearney, because many schools graduate the same weekend. Units drop Friday and are picked up Monday at no extra charge.
