Call now (402) 313-6717How many porta potties do I need for my event?
An event needs 1 porta potty for every 50 guests over 4 hours. A 150-guest, 6-hour graduation party needs 5 units. If beer or wine is served, add 1 unit for every 4. Public events also need at least one wheelchair-accessible unit in each restroom group.
| Guests | Up to 4 hours | 6 hours | 8 hours | With alcohol (4 hrs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
| 100 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 3 |
| 150 | 3 | 5 | 6 | 4 |
| 200 | 4 | 6 | 8 | 5 |
| 300 | 6 | 9 | 12 | 8 |
| 500 | 10 | 15 | 20 | 13 |
Method: 1 unit per 50 guests for 4 hours, scaled by event length, rounded up. Alcohol adds 1 unit for every 4. See the sizing guide for the worked steps.
When is an event porta potty delivered and picked up?
An event porta potty is delivered the business day before your event and picked up the business day after. Saturday and Sunday events get a Friday drop and a Monday pickup at no extra cost. Holiday-weekend events may be picked up Tuesday. Saturday-morning drops are available by request.
The extra days are free because the price covers the trip, not the hours. For events in a public park, ask the park office whether the unit can stay overnight. Read the weekend timing guide or the graduation party porta potty guide.

What comes inside an event porta potty?
An event porta potty comes clean and stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer and a fresh deodorizer charge in the tank. Event units are kept for events only, not rotated through job sites. Flushing units add a foot-pump flush, a sink, soap and paper towels. Hand-washing stations hold enough water for a full day.
| Unit | Best for | Hand washing | Needs water or power? | Footprint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard porta potty | Job sites, farm crews, backyard overflow | Hand sanitizer inside | No | About 4 × 4 ft |
| Standard with hand sink | Parties with food, crews that eat on site | Foot-pump sink inside | No, it carries its own water | About 4 × 4 ft |
| Deluxe flushing unit | Weddings, graduation parties, nicer events | Sink, soap, towels, mirror | No, self-contained | About 4 × 4 ft |
| ADA wheelchair-accessible | Public events, guests with walkers or wheelchairs | Sanitizer; pair with a wash station | No, needs level ground | About 7 × 7 ft |
| Hand-washing station | Food service, job sites, fairs | Two basins, soap, towels | No, carries fresh water | About 3 × 3 ft |
| Restroom trailer | Weddings, VIP areas, multi-day events | Running-water sinks | Garden hose and a 20-amp outlet | About 8 × 12 ft plus steps |
Where should event units go?
Event porta potties work best 50 to 100 feet from food tables, on level ground, with doors facing the guest path. Group units together so guests see them quickly. Keep them off septic fields, sprinkler heads and slopes. For evening events, place units within reach of a porch or yard light.
Public events and fairs: the 2010 ADA Standards, section 213.2, call for at least 5% of portable units in each cluster to be accessible, and never fewer than one. See wheelchair-accessible units.
Event porta potty questions
Can the porta potty arrive the morning of my party?
Morning-of delivery is possible on weekdays, but we recommend delivery the day before. A day-before drop means the unit is in place before guests arrive, and no truck is backing up your driveway during setup. Saturday events get a Friday drop at no extra charge.
Will someone clean the unit during a two-day festival?
Units on a 1- or 2-day event are delivered clean and fully stocked, and most need no mid-event cleaning. For festivals with heavy use, we schedule a service visit between days for a flat add-on charge. We pump, wipe down and restock while the grounds are quiet.
Do you have pink porta potties?
A small number of pink units are available for baby showers, breast-cancer fundraisers and themed parties. They are the same standard unit in a different color. Ask when you book, because they are limited and go out first in spring.
Is there a minimum rental time?
There is no hourly or daily rate. The event package covers delivery, up to 5 days on site and pickup for one price. A 4-hour party and a 3-day reunion cost the same per unit.
We have 36 guests and one bathroom on a septic system. Do we need a porta potty?
A party of 30 to 50 guests with one indoor bathroom usually needs 1 porta potty. It keeps guests out of the house and spares a small septic tank from overload. Above 50 guests, plan on 2 units, or 1 flushing unit with a sink.
What if my event is canceled?
Cancel at least 48 hours before the delivery date and you pay nothing. Inside 48 hours, a trip fee may apply if the unit is already loaded. Rain does not cancel a rental automatically, so call us if you postpone.
